John says in the newsletter, “despite numerous attempts to reconcile”…… and he is right
in part, but all meetings, with the exception of two, originated with me. I’m often
reminded by Dorothy that “actions speak louder than words”. John says he is
appreciative of our commitment to the ministry and always will be so would it be too
much ask why he didn’t think to call me on the phone or ask for a meeting so we as
stockholders and more importantly, spiritual partners, could have discussed an issue of
such magnitude. I have yet to receive one phone call from John about reconciliation,
despite his claim, but have initiated at least half a dozen face to face meetings with John
in an attempt to reconcile our differences. The one meeting initiated by John was when
he asked if I would explain my position to the Alpha board, and that while we were in a
meeting I had called. The other meeting was called by Sandi who, unlike John, has no
trouble speaking up for herself (that’s a good thing). She sent a text to Dorothy after
reading a message I wrote in an email and then followed it up with a phone call to
Dorothy.
Below is a copy of that letter.
Bill,
John continues to capitulate and has again refused to pay the First Bank of Clewiston
where the note on the property is held, jeopardizing the interests of all involved and by
his admission, wanting the property to go into foreclosure. It will also greatly
inconvenience all parties living on the ranch property, eight families in all, in that they
will be forced to vacate the property in the event of foreclosure. Four of the families live
in doublewide mobile homes, one with his grandchildren, which will be very costly to
relocate. The Sweatt’s made the January and February payment in the amount of
$8,158.00 in an attempt to forestall the inevitable. John's recent chart reduced rent from
all tenets to an amount less than the amount of the bank payment and took his $1,000
payment out of the equation. If he collected the agreed amount it would total upwards of
$8,000 per month. That does not include two double wide homes whose tenets have
never paid rent do to reasons only understood by John. As an aside - the Sweatt’s had no
say in what amount each renter would pay as that decision, as were all others, left
entirely up to John. I am truly sorry John is selfishly jeopardizing the future of his own
grandchildren when he can clearly make the payments.
I do want you to know I don’t in anyway blame you for taking the tact you did. I refused
to believe what was before my own eyes until I started going over the evidence. In fact I
blame none of the people standing on the sidelines as they see exactly what John wants
them to see. What we all want is the truth as I know you do. The truth will be told then
each can make their own judgments as to any wrong doing wherever it may fall. Lies
hate the light and truth hates deception. I’ve said as late as in the meeting with the five of
us that I will gladly and willing apologies if I’m found lacking on any point.
I will be sending out an update later on today or in the AM with more information that
will help to differentiate the issues between the Sweatt’s and the Glenn’s. I see no point
in having the Friday meeting as John has yet to do what he agrees to do when he faces
me.
All the best to you and yours and we do most appreciate your prayers,
George & Dorothy
