John won’t use Alpha for personal gain! Really! I guess it comes down to “what the
meaning of is is” as stated by Bill Clinton when attempting to weasel his way out of the
Lewinsky debacle. Note that John did not exclude Freedom Ranch from his personal gain
statement. How does one define personal gain? For the sake of clarity, I will over simplify
it by defining it as “money”. By last accounting, more that 1 million dollars has passed
through the Freedom Ranch account. By John’s own admission Alpha has contributed over
half a million dollars to some cause? John is in control of the check book so by simple
deduction we will come to the realization the money goes to someone or somewhere that
only he can direct. The Benbow’s have contributed in excess of $350,000 so I can’t see
where they have personally gained. Anybody that has ever stayed in the RV Park has paid
rent. OK, maybe not the aliens, who are reputed to have more highly evolved ethics than
we earthlings hence a better understanding of “love offerings” as John now calls the rent
payments, but all you other guys get to pay. What? You missed that report? Anyhow, the
Boney’s have paid some rent over the years they’ve been there so I can’t single them out.
Only Virginia Chilton and Billy Owens had paid no rent up until the public meeting I
called, but by my definition of personal gain, I can’t even include them. That leaves only
John and Sandi who live in a $200,000 house, have both had several new vehicles, and two
RV’s, just name a few big items. All of this was made possible because of his association
with Alpha and Freedom Ranch. Now it may sound like sour grapes on my part but if you
think that, you have no clue how I feel about much of anything. Dorothy and I both
wanted John and Sandi to have a nice home and I really don’t care how many cars the own
so I’m good with all of that. So why all this banter about who got what? Yes I really do
mean it - it is tongue-in-cheek as no rational person would likely come to the conclusion
John would have you believe. By the grace of God, Dorothy and I have never wanted for
anything and have been blessed with more than adequate income over the years. A portion
of that income was used to establish Alpha Ministry on the property now in contention. As
John pointed out elsewhere, we were disappointed that we were unable to do more when
the economy took a downturn a few years back. No one would deny reasonable payment
to John for the work he and Sandi have put into the ranch and John saw to it he was well
paid over the years. Even as late as December of 2013 when he claimed he had no money
to pay the loan payment, he did find enough money to give himself a nice Christmas bonus.
So this is not about compensation but rather about honesty and integrity. Dorothy and I
don’t pay ourselves or take money from a joint account. Even if we had access to such an
account we would not presume to write checks without at least asking our partners. As an
aside, the main building and the ranch house are, as is the case with any real estate in
Florida, included in the total value and belong solely to the corporation, not to Alpha, not
to the Freedom Ranch stockholders personally. John talks about not making payments on
“his house”. As the house is and always has been secured by the 138 acres as collateral,
John does personally benefit from Freedom Ranch.
Personal gain!
